FAQ

Can a Bruno Stairlift or Acorn Stairlift be installed on a narrow staircase?

Each installation is a custom process and most staircases can handle a stairlift. Long Island Stairlifts will inspect and measure your staircase to determine if your staircase can accommodate a stairlift and if so which model is the best fit for your staircase and your needs.

What is the warranty on the stairlift?

Both Bruno and Acorn offer warranties for their stairlifts. Long Island Stairlifts provides required service on new stairlifts for the first year of ownership.

Does Medicare or private insurance cover the cost of the stairlift or installation?

Medicare does not cover the cost of purchase or installation of stairlifts. We are not aware of any private insurance that covers the purchase or installation of stairlifts.

Is the purchase of a stairlift subject to sales tax?

New York State does not charge sales tax on the purchase of a stairlift.
